Women’s Tennis Bounces Back With 5-2 Win Over George Washington
After dropping two straight matches the women’s tennis team was able to bounce back in a big way as they returned home for a 5-2 victory over George Washington.
Men’s Tennis Beats Temple, 4-3, Women Fall 6-1
The men’s and women’s tennis teams both attempted to bounce back from one-sided losses to conference foe Binghamton with a short road trip to Temple on Wednesday. The men were able to eek by the Owls, 4-3 but unfortunately for the women, they suffered their second straight loss as they fell 6-1.
Women’s Tennis Sweeps Towson, 7-0
The women’s tennis team bounced back from a 5-1 loss to Stony Brook with a shutout of Towson to get their seventh win in eight games to improve to 11-5 this season.
Women’s Tennis Sweeps Albany, 7-0
The women’s tennis team is riding a six match winning streak after breaking Howard (5-3), Prairie View A&M (7-0), Texas A&M Corpus Christi (4-2), UT- San Antonio (5-2), St. Joseph’s (7-0), and most recently Albany (7-0).
Rain Delays and Cancelations
This past weekend several sports have had their schedules moved around because of the rain. Men’s and Women’s tennis’ matches against Delaware was moved to April 20. Softball’s UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament consisting of games against Bucknell, Seton Hall, St. Francis, and Morgan State was canceled.
Men’s and Women’s Tennis Updates
Due to inconsistent updates of Tennis results, mostly of away games, I tend to skip tennis posts on my site because they are either not posted or by the time they are it is several days after the fact: So for now I’ll update you for what they’ve done so far since my last update.
Women’s Tennis Sweeps Hartford But Fall To Boston U
The women’s tennis team started their conference season this week with matches against Hartford and Boston U. They started off very strong with a 7-0 victory over the Hawks, but they stumbled in their trip to Boston as they lost 5-2.
Tennis Postponed
As you can imagine the athletic schedule was very shifted around this weekend with the blizzard in full force, but it has just announced that the women’s tennis match against Towson has been rescheduled for March 5 at 1:00 pm.

While the women’s match against Youngstown State was canceled the two teams won the three matches in which they took part in. Women’s Tennis vs. Dusquesne- 5-2 W Men’s Tennis vs. Dusquesne- 4-3 W Men’s Tennis vs. Youngstown State- 6-1 W
