Men’s Tennis Beats Temple, 4-3, Women Fall 6-1

The men’s and women’s tennis teams both attempted to bounce back from one-sided losses to conference foe Binghamton with a short road trip to Temple on Wednesday. The men were able to eek by the Owls, 4-3 but unfortunately for the women, they suffered their second straight loss as they fell 6-1.

After a trip to Texas over spring break in which the men’s tennis team beat both Praire View A&M (7-0), and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (4-3), they returned home and this time took on George Mason who they beat, 6-1.

This past weekend several sports have had their schedules moved around because of the rain. Men’s and Women’s tennis’ matches against Delaware was moved to April 20. Softball’s UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament consisting of games against Bucknell, Seton Hall, St. Francis, and Morgan State was canceled.

The men’s tennis team opened their week of competition with a complete sweep of conference foe Hartford. They then proceeded to Beat Connecticut, 5-1, and another conference foe, Boston U, 6-1.

Men’s Tennis Sweeps St. Francis (N.Y), 7-0

There was a little glitch in the schedule on UMBC’s website, they had the opponent listed as St. Joseph’s and not St. Francis, but no difference, they won, and in fact, won every match they took part in, beating St. Francis, 7-0.
