The men’s basketball team got a big addition to their team when former Manhattan Jasper forward Laurence Jolicoeur was declared eligible to play in the 2010-11 season. Jolicoeur had an added year of eligibility because he was on the team in Manhattan during the 2006-07 season, but he did not play due to an injury.
Jolicoeur is a 6’9″, 210-pound forward who is enrolled in graduate school at UMBC.
While at Manhattan he played in 68 games and made 39 starts in three season. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game at Manhattan. Last season he averaged 3.2 rebounds and had 16 blocks. He’s also scored in double-figures 12 times in his three years as a Jasper.
With such a young, and small team, Jolicoeur should make an immediate impact. He’s a defensive player, just like UMBC other two graduate students, Justin Fry and Travis King.
