Women’s Soccer Draws With Campbell, 1-1

The women’s soccer team was just 25 seconds away from their second win of the season by virtue of a 1-0 upset of Campbell but at 89:35 Olga Ekblom perfectly placed a shot in the upper right hand corner of the goal to tie the game at one goal.
UMBC’s goal came late in the game as well. At 86:41 Sarah Kopytko netted the go-ahead goal off a rebound from a shot by Amy Savage.
While there are no such things as moral victories, UMBC played solid defense (again without Erin Johnson) against a Campbell team that finished 9-9-1 last year and returned several key players.
Sorry for being late fans, but it’s the first day of school and things got a little hectic.
