Michael Pesci just has not worked out at pitcher this season and it would be a total shock to see him back on the mound again next year. He has been very effective hitting the ball but he has just struggled on the mound his entire career.
Pesci gave up eight runs off eight hits in two innings while Sean Swetnam gave up nine runs (six earned) off seven hits in four innings. Austin Drewyer pitched the final three innings and gave up two runs off four hits.
UMBC fell behing 14-0 before finally scoring two runs in the fourth inning when Pesci and Max Himmelstein scored back-to-back runs. But that would be all UMBC would score while Binghamton would score five move in a 19-2 game three victory over UMBC.
