Baseball Just Can’t Hit With Stony Brook

The baseball team has showed for a sixth time they are just no match for the Stony Brook University Seawolves. The team completed their six games against SBU without a win and were outscored 100-15 in them.

In the final game of the three-game home series the Retrievers fell 24-2 with runs coming from Michael Pesci and Bryan Russo, both in the fourth inning. But even at that point the game was out of reach as the pitchers gave up seven runs in the first and fourth innings.

Six pitchers took the mound for UMBC and nobody who pitched more than one out shut the Seawolves out.

The team fell to 9-32 (4-13 AEC) on the season and will continue their home stand with eight more games at UMBC Baseball Factory Field to conclude the season. But the games do not get any easier they they will face Towson University (16-31), Binghamton University (22-18, 13-3 AEC), and University of Maine (25-19, 9-6 AEC).
