The season has been the same story over and over again. The batters get a few runs, enough to win a game, but the pitchers just cannot get an out.
J.R. Seader was taken out of the game after four innings on the mound because he gave up eight runs off eight hits. His relief did not fair much better either as Sean Swetnam and Kevin Clark each gave up two runs in their stints.
UMBC fell behind 5-0 before finally scoring in the second inning. Leading the Retrievers from the batters box was Brian Klukowicz who went 3-for-4 with one run. Marty Zawacki and Casey Mediary scored two hits while Mediary and Bryan Russo both scored two runs.
But with the loss UMBC fell to 9-29 on the season with just one last non-conference game left, which is against Towson.
