Women’s Track and Field Finishes Fifth At AEC Championships

With 68 points the women’s track and field team finished in fifth place at the America East Conference Championship meet.

Leading the women’s team was Amanda Feller, who finished first in the shot put with a mark of 14.37 meters while also earning a silver in the discus with a throw of 41.74 meters. Chrissy Robinson finished in third place in the shot put with a mark of 13.15 meters.

Elsewhere on the women’s side Britney Foreman broke the UMBC record in the 200-meter dash with a 24.41 finish. Foreman also finished fourth in the 100-meter dash. Lauren Walker finished in seventh place in the pole vault with a record mark of 3.15 meters.

Sophomore Kiki Malomo-Paris finished in third place in the long jump with a distance of 5.60 meters.

The 4×100 meter relay team of Nicole Smalls, Ashley Ajayi, Imani Colbert, and Foreman finished in fourth place with an ECAC-qualfying time of 47.18. Colbert also finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles.

Freshman Chowan Brightful finished in sixth place in the finished in six place in the heptathlon with a school record 4,299 points. She won the hurdles portion with a time of 14.66.

Finally, Sara Parkinson finished in third place in the 1,500-meter run in 4:33.37.
