The men’s tennis team’s attempt to reclaim the America East Conference championship for the first time since 2007 came up short as they fell to Binghamton University, 4-0.
Mwali Phiri and Joe Adewumi were able to get a doubles win 9-8 (5) but neither the first nor second doubles teams could help win the doubles point.
But the team was shutout in singles competition as Chris Meyer (6-0, 6-1), Adewumi (6-2, 7-5), and Phiri (6-2, 6-3) were all unsuccessful in their matches. With their losses Fred Voorman and Adam Duprat, who were both leading their matches, and Gaulthier Berrett’s all had their matches ended early due to the Bearcats already earning four points.
