The baseball team put themselves in a very bad situation by losing their series against University at Albany that will likely keep them out of the America East Conference playoffs.
Game 1: UAlbany 13, UMBC 0
UMBC managed just four hits against UAlbany pitcher Zach Kraham, who pitched seven shutout innings in game one of the double-header.
The fact that the Retrievers gave up 13 runs did not matter since the team could not score a run, but Austin Drewyer struggled giving up nine runs off 10 hits while Michael Pesci gave up four runs in one inning.
Game 2: UAlbany 10, UMBC 8
The UMBC pitchers finally got some run support as the team scored eight runs off 14 hits. Max Himmelstein led hit two home runs and went 3 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs while Curtis Schickner went 3-for-4 with a run and 3 RBIs. Brian Klukowicz also recorded three hits.
But once again the pitching just could not hold up as six pitchers gave up 10 runs to the Great Danes.
