Fefel Ties Home Run Record, But UMBC Falls In Extra Innings

Amanda Fefel hit her 40th career home run in the first inning against University of Maine.
It did not take long for Amanda Fefel to get her 40th career home run as she blasted a two-run shot in the first inning to give UMBC a quick 2-0 lead. The home run tied UMBC’s career record while she has six more chances to break it.
UMBC would get out to a 6-0 lead but Stephanie Weigman fell apart again as she gave up six runs in the fourth inning to give up the lead.
Fefel would come in for 4.2 innings of relief and close out the inning.
UMBC would score one final run in the fifth inning but University of Maine would score two more runs, including one in the ninth inning to hand UMBC another loss, dropping them to 3-9 in America East Conference play.
