Men’s Tennis Wins Three, Three Set Matches To Improve To 16-5

Gaulthier Berret scored a come from behind victory in the team’s 6-1 victory over Delaware.
Fredi Voorman was in the zone in his doubles match with Chris Meyer as the duo beat Andre Vorobyov and Austin Longacre, 8-2.
The french duo of freshmen Adam Duprat and Gaulthier Berrett got by Courtney Scott and Chris Hincker, 8-6.
The third doubles match between Mwali Phiri and Joe Adewumi and Sam Barrer and Camilo Perez was delayed when a Delaware player got his hand caught in the fence, but UMBC eventually got the victory, 8-5.
In singles competition the team’s lone loss came from Chris Meyer, who could not get by an awkward backhand by Longacre.
Adewumi and Phiri got by their competion in two sets, 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-3, respectively.
The two through four players were taken into a third set however, though they all won.
Duprat defeated Courtney Scott, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, while Voorman got by Chris Hincker, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Finally, Berret defeated Vorobyov, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 as the team got the 6-1 victory, improving to 16-5 on the season.
