Fefel and Weigman Allow One Hit In 4-0 Victory Over Coppin State

Amanda Fefel struck out four batters in three innings and did not let one make it to a base. Stephanie Weigman came in for the final four innings and allowed just one hit while striking out four as the pitching held Coppin State scoreless in the 4-0 victory.
UMBC was able to score two runs in both the first and fifth innings, but the first run was enough for the win.
After getting a lead-off double Lauren brummell eventually scored off a hit up the middle from Lauren O’Malley. Ashley Carver, who pinch ran for Fefel in the first inning, stole a base and later crossed home plate for team’s second score.
Later in the fifth inning UMBC added two more insurance runs when Fefel hit a two-run home run to center field, bringing in Amanda Beavers for the 4-0 lead and eventual final score.
