This is a huge swing game for UMBC. They are currently in fourth place in the conference but if they lose, they will fall to sixth place after having been swept by both Binghamton and Stony Brook.
Right now UMBC is playing hot basketball since switching back to the Princeton Offense. They have lost to Binghamton and Vermont, but they just don’t match up well against them. But they are still 4-2 in that span. If they manage to win against Stony Brook is will not only keep them in fourth place, but it will allow them to keep their momentum going into the tournament.
The last time these two teams played UMBC came out flat and lost by 16 points. If they want to win this time they have to contain Kirsten Jeter. She scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds last time, and is without a doubt Stony Brook’s go-to-player.
The Princeton may neutralize her rebounding ability but Tope Obajoly has to come out ready to play against her inside.
