Women’s Swimming And Diving Has Seven Seniors Go Out With Sweep of Delaware and William and Mary

In their final home meet, Sam Maccherola, Lindsay Sherman, Tina Cantwell, Kate Chialastri, Jennifer Esposito, Brittany Johnson, and Tereza Kaplanova left with two wins as they beat Delaware (177-123) and William and Mary (164-130) to improve their record to 6-3 on the season.

Three of the seniors walked away with gold medals in the meet. Maccherola won the 500 free in a time of 5:01.95 while Sherman won the 100 fly in 58.28 and Cantwell won the 100 breast in 1:06.59.

Junior diver Amanda Shinhosler earned a career best in the 1-meter dive with 209.10 points.

Maccherola, Sherman, Cantwell, Esposito, and Kaplanova have been five very key parts to the women’s swimming and diving team this season and will look to go out as league champions with the go to Boston University on February 28 for the America East Conference Championship Meet.
